About Nettie

BSc MA (Psych), MNZPsS
Registered Psychologist

Nettie Cullen is a registered psychologist with over twelve years experience in a variety of settings including public mental health services, educational institutions, non-governmental organisations and private practice. Having completed her undergraduate and masters degrees in Australia, she has most recently been working towards a PhD at Auckland University.

Nettie draws on a range of theoretical models in her work including Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Solution-Focused and Family Systems therapies.  One size does not necessarioy fill all, however, and Nettie’s approach to therapy is to work closely with clients to develop a strategy that most effectively produces positive results, given each person’s unique circumstances.  Nettie works not only to fix what is ‘broken’, but also to identify and nurture her clients’ particular capabilities and strengths. To do this it is essential to understand clients and support them in a whole-of-life way … emotionally, physically, spiritually, relationally and socially.
